The Humanist Project

The Humanist Project & Black Lives Matter

In the foundational values of Occupational Therapy, we believe that every single person has the basic human right to participate in the things that matter most to them. As Occupational Therapists, we focus on current strengths while eliminating detrimental barriers that prevent an individual’s success.

Black Lives Matter to Grant Therapy Services because happiness and success shouldn’t be contingent on the color of someone’s skin. It is something that every single person, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or spiritual belief is entitled to as a basic human right. This is something that impacts everyone, us included. Grant Therapy Services was founded by an interracial couple with a small number of employees; we are a family. Black Lives Matter because Black lives are human lives. They are our family, our future children, our community and we will fight for their safety, always.

Every one of the families we serve in their home is unique and their needs will be different. On our website, you will find resources in our own “Humanist Project” section, which spotlights resources to support age appropriate ways to foster celebration of a diverse community. We commit to this ongoing movement and education for the evolution of our culture’s viewpoints and actions. We’re in this together.
